Royal Wedding day at Berkeley Castle

Whilst millions tuned into watch the Royal Wedding at Windsor Castle I spent the day recording the wedding of Elaine and Jon at Berkeley Castle. Despite the lack of world media coverage at Berkeley Castle this was a beautiful wedding staged in one of the most spectacular wedding venues in Gloucestershire.  St Mary’s Church, located next to the Castle, is a magnificant 15th century building, that is historically intertwined with Berkeley Castle and the surrounding village and landscape.  The Castle, originally built in 1153, is said to be haunted by King Edward II who was imprisoned within the walls after he was deposed by his wife, Queen Isabella, and her lover, Roger Mortimer in 1327. Edward II was later murdered and his ghost is said to walk the corridors.  A fitting location for Elaine and Jon to marry at the same time as Prince Harry and Meagan Markle.

Elaine’s wedding dress, for me, beat the Royal Wedding dress worn at the same time by Meagan Markle.  Simple stunning!

A few weeks prior to the wedding we shot the pre-wedding photoshoot
